So I haven't been on in a while, but I am still strict paleo and even though the 4 weeks are done today I will be staying strict for another 4 weeks!!! I am very excited to see the results everyday seems to be better and better right now.

WEEK 4!!!

So This is a TMI post, but it is important and huge aspect of paleo for me. As a women I know people understand the pain that our lovely period brings. Oy! I've always have had this issue to the point where I'm double over in pain in the middle of work shifts. I usually CRAVE like super crave soda and all those things. Well this time that has been totally different. I went from usually taking 3 doses of 4 advil for 2 days to not having ANY NONE NADA ZIPO. AHHHH I didn't crave any soda and I barely had any mood swings... just a little, but that may have been life and not my hormones. I would recommend paleo just for these benefits, forget the weight lost, the energy... to experience the period change is worth it all. I don't need milk, grains, and what not to feel as amazing as I do right now. This became the point where I can say my life was changed by paleo. Seriously people it has been completely changed. In less than a month, I have go from a large t shirt being tight to a medium t shirt being a little loose. I have gone from barely doing 10 burpees to doing 50... (ok it took a long time, but I still did it and I got some sexy knee bruises too) from barely making it thru 1min planks to doing it and doing it strong and accidentally adding 40secs. To having major issues focusing to focusing better, at least I can make it thru a work out and classes... I probably would have more success with my focus and my adhd if I took out my coffee, which I need to cut more of that out. And honestly most important to me right now and probably much to the excitement of my friends and family is that I am not having the crazy mood swings that my period led to and I'm not in as much pain... Sorry Tori I can't text you to tell you that my ovaries hurt... they just don't hurt as much now. I'm not saying I wasn't in any pain, but I was in a little pain, but I wouldn't even call it that. I would just call it discomfort and honestly that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was the insane mood swings and I'm not talking about just crying or getting a little upset, I'm talking about EXTREME mood swings... Talk to my mom or Julie or any of my super close friends. I could go from goofing around to having a full blown melt down all because my hormones were going crazy.

             I feel so good about things right now. I can't believe how much food can change your life. I know some people around me are still having issues with what I eat and how much of different things I eat, but seriously I'm becoming living proof that this works! That there is no need for grains, dairy, and all those crazy things that the government has forced on us.

    So where things go from here... Well I still have a week and a day of the 30days, but I will not change from this plan. But I am going to learn to ride a bike (yea some how I forgot... or something...) I'm getting my license soon (I WANT MY SCOOTER BACK GRRRRRR If you want to go confront someone with me let me know!!! We can take a field trip together) getting my jeep (COME ON MOM!!!) Of course I will be posting more and more... sexy knee bruises anyone? And I want to learn to garden... I've always had a black thumb, but hey I always thought I would be fat with crazy mood swings... things change easily I'm learning.

Ohhh and the other GREAT thing I can cook things I NEVER thought I could or would. Like my amazing chuck roast from this weekend! Mom loved it! Julie loved my pork loin! MMM Food!!! MEAT!

This week

ahhh what a roller coaster this week has been, but lets focus on the good!!!

Tuesday night at Crossfit East Decatur was AMAZING!!!!!!!! I love love love love love it!!!! I want to be there every moment of the day!!! So yea. I am ready for more. Let's Do it!!! I'm just sad that I can't be there ALL the time. Stupid having to move. Oh Well!!! I have been focusing on everything I learned at FUNdamentals and just making sure things are good!!! :D So yes, that's all I got. Oh wait I cooked a yummy meal for mom and I tonight. She said it was actually good. Shrimp, Bacon, Scallops, spaghetti squash, spinach, tomato, carrots, garlic, onion, and lots of yummy spices. I think I need to go to bed now... is 8pm too early?!

dinner tonight

Today was a good day! I didn't have to work and I got to play with food. I cooked mustard balsamic chicken and cauliflower rice with spinach and carrots! It was SO YUMMY!!! mmmm happily full... I have the left over sauce and chicken to mix with my eggs in the morning YEAAAA!!! perfect way to start a day! I'm making chicken-tikka-masala some time soon... One of my FAVORITE meals!!! I can't wait to make it all yummy paleo-y. I'm currently watching Rachel Maddow right now I was thinking about posting one of my favorite clips from her show, but I couldn't find it. Anyways... Cfed tomorrowwwww!!! SO EXCITED!!! also very excited to see my Bestie and the God-kids. I saw them saturday and already miss them. I am so excited I get to spend the next few tuesday nights with them!!!

woah what a work out...

Tomorrow I start cleaning at the gym! I'm really excited even more excited for fundamentals!!!

I am thinking about my food and that its getting pretty bland. While I LOVE LOVE what I am eating I need to get more creative. I still have chili and pork loin in the freezer why haven't I eaten it?! Hmmmm... my mom keeps complaining that she hasn't had any of the foods that I'm cooking...ummm lady. There is a CRAP load of yummy food in the freezer EAT IT! This summer I know I'll cook and play a lot more with food since it won't be school school school and all that good stuff. now I need a nap. please. Also I know I have lost weight even if I'm not seeing it in the photos. My national team shirts all fit better I can work out harder and all that jazz. I just was expecting more and maybe yesterday wasn't a good day for the photos bc I was feeling bloated. Maybe not enough water, too much nuts, not enough meat. I'm not sure, but it was something. I need to read now... oh class.

date night dinner

Hello people!!!!

Last night I cooked an AWESOME meal for Julie and I. We had scallops, ahi tuna, shrimp, spaghetti squash, and this salsa style stuff that I created myself. I wanted to share the recipe with you guys. Julie kept going on about it. It was actually her favorite part of the meal.

It goes something like this. And I don't measure hardly ever so I'm going to try my best to give you the measurements.

Zucchini (about 3/4 of it) diced
tomatoes (3 small to medium ones) diced
spinach about 2 handfuls diced
carrots ( about a handful ) these were ones that I shredded already so just thinly sliced and chopped
garlic one clove, diced
onion (just a little bit) diced
little bitty bit of bell peppers just for a little kick I used red... diced!
juice of half a lemon
juice of half a lime
a swirl around the bowl of balsamic and olive oil
little bit of sea salt and fresh cracked pepper

put in the fridge until right before eating and then when on the table add a litttttle more balsamic.

I think the fridge was a huge part bc it was so cold and nice.
It balanced beautifully with the seafood but could go great with eggs or anything.

I have training with Kim today and I'm really hoping my lungs like me!!!

Robb... Robb... Calling Uncle Robb...

so I've still been having some problems with my lungs. I wanted to make sure that I was doing everything possible that I can to make sure that I have the most success possible. So first I went to Coach Lauren and I love people that can say, "I'm not sure, but This person can!" It makes me so happy. So Lauren sent me to Robb Wolf, the writer of The Paleo Solution. This is the book Coach Lauren also suggested for me to read to start Paleo and seriously it had changed my life!!! Robb has on his page a place where you can send a question so I did. The response I got was helpful!
"Eating good non-inflammatory paleo foods should be good to go. There may be some herbs and things like garlic, rosemary, ginger, etc. that could be good to use with foods as well. For workout suggestions, I would probably say just ramp up into working out and don't overdo it. Maybe being careful about quick drastic temperature change, and being mindful if working out in very dry and cold air." 


I also made the decision that I love Paleo and will be sticking with it after the 30days. This is the best I've ever felt. I love the foods I'm eating and I look better!!! I'm not missing pasta and breads, but I will be a little less strict with my foods once I'm at the size I want to be at! Also new photos will go up for the start of week 3!! :D

week 22222222.... well just Week TWO!

So This week started with being back at school and YEA SCHOOL!!!! I was starting to get bored there. I cooked up some spaghetti squash last night and burgers, bacon, and garlic (well I just cut the garlic). I packed my lunch today and already ate all my meat... I need more bacon (For real I think this is only a paleo problem...mmmmm bacon). I did buy tons of seafood (mom is going to hilton head this week so I guess my stomach wanted to be there too) I can't wait to cook for date night wed. :D

I was really excited for my workout today and my warm up started AWESOME! but then my lungs got in the way and I fought as hard as I could, but my trainer decided to call it and we rescheduled... Thanks mom for your cold which I REFUSE to full get!!! So he had me just walk/run about 30mins more! I think besides my lungs, my head was more the problem. I can workout on my own with no problems including running when my mind isn't there, but then when someone else is helping and my mind isn't there... OY!! Watch out! I need to figure out how to stop that. Everything that I've been a part of its GREAT to be in my head and see things my way, but with a trainer it isn't so good. I think this is good to prepare for Crossfit. It feels really good though to have your trainers know that you work your ass off so today was not normal. So I have to keep proving to myself and them that today isn't me!! I'm not reverting back to the sick me who is ok with being fat and not working hard to get it off. LET'S GO!

 Yesterday, mom and I went shopping! EEEKKK I am a size smaller. Along with the dresses my aunt got me that were larges, I'm now a 16 in most clothes and a 17 in JR which is AWESOME because before I couldn't fit in JR anymore. YEA!! so mom bought me a couple of pairs of jeans bc all of mine were seriously falling off. YEA! I pretty much feel really comfortable and happy in clothes now. I can't wait to keep shrinking some, but I am learning to love my body again and know that I put tons of work into it!!

I've been really into music this weekend and I'm really excited mom is going out of town so that I can blast music all night and whenever I'm home... poor neighbors. I've also been really creatively thinking lately and am really excited to start working on a new video. Its DADT inspired and I was very inspired by the new song from Gym Class Heroes, back home...

Paleo Pancakes are now my life...

omg paleo pancakes were have you been my whole life?!! WOW!!! So far my favorite thing, it jumped paleo chicken alfredo!!!

So today was my day off of working out... I should say day off in quotes, because I did my hula workout which used to be my hard work out... it was easy...ish. I was sweating my ass off, but that is AWESOME!!! and then I danced and I can't believe my turns they are already ten times better!!! like insane better. WOW I can't wait to see how my dancing improves soon... and my soccer playing. If I can find someone to play with!!!! Also my leaps were ten times better and I was able to dance out of them instead of having to land. I haven't been able to do that since college. I loved it. After that I went and cleaned the back porch. Mom is going to be so excited. :D I was looking at some dresses online... and found this site it is all pinup style dresses and so beautiful. I can't wait to be the size I want to be so I can buy these beautiful dresses!!! AHHHHH I can't wait so sexy and yummy.

nothing to do with paleo

But this is my life... So I'm obsessed with a song right now. First off I LOVE LOVE LOVE her hair!!! Secondly, the song is AMAZING. Thirdly (is that a word?!), the video is WOW.Fourthly, I've ALWAYS been in love with Skyscrapers, one of my favorite things about the city. Everyday I go to class I stare at these amazing buildings. And finally, her story is beautiful.
This is a video I did for class. This isn't the final cut, but I love what I did here and the final cut had a lot of stuff taken out that I adored. So this is probably my favorite cut. I'll post the actual cut when I get it transferred over to this computer!! It is much cleaner and ends a little better!

oy today has already started rough. I had a super bad night of sleep. And then my work outs were ok... legs are still weak. I made some eggs with sausage (no-nitrates), burger, bell peppers, onions, garlic, carrots, and spinach... It tasted ok... I was arguing while cooking and well they turned out ok... I'll eat the second helpings later bc they were ok... yea I'm kinda grumpy. I just have to stay FOCUS!!! FOCUS is the word of the day. Oy. anyways. now I'm going to drink my coffee....

Goals

Hi! So today I put on my normally rather tight jeans. They were SUPER loose and looked AWESOME!!! YEAAAAA!! My aunt and I went shopping I got my dress for the wedding, another dress, really cute little sweaters, anddd great work out clothes (so my pants don't fall off when I do burpees!!! So for lunch I had turkey and a clementine, grapes and carrots. YUUMMM! I promised I would list my fitness goals and here they are!
Hand stand push ups (I just need to get my hand stand more balanced and I'll be there)
get more muscles
be able to achieve pull ups (I'm getting there)
get my split back (close so close)
run the stairs...(I walk them well right now)
tone up my chest (goes with the muscles, but my chest and upper body is WEAK!)
Run a 5k easily (I love running so this shouldn't take to long)
be able to do 7mins of burpees. (This was the first thing for the cross fit open and I want to be able to do this!!!)
Hold at least 1min plank of course more, but this is a starting point.

Day two!!!

I LOVE PALEO!!! I had paleo chili for breakfast... yum! Mom hated the chili, bc it has bell peppers in it. I worked HARD today!! tabatas- squats, sit-ups, push ups, and skull crushers (10lbs). I get to go dress shopping with my Aunt today!!! VERY excited!!!! And tonight I will post my fitness goals. Up above is one of my favorite Glee songs. I love it!!!

finishing up day one!!

Lunch!!!
Well today was interesting... I ate yummy food I got to eat lots of meat!!! YUM I set up the timer for tabata for tomorrow! I did lots of fun workouts today. Along with the 3sets of fun. I did 10 handstands, 10 attempted pull ups, 50 kettle ball swings, and 50 single arm swings. I ate all the breakfast stuff, and tuna with carrots, spinach, and kale chips, along with some balsamic, I had paleo chicken Alfredo for dinner, and 1/4 cup of almonds and raisins. YUMMY day!!! I can't wait until tomorrow!!!

REALLY?! REALLY?!

I love to hate burpees!!! and this little guy is so cute!!!
First off FINALLY my ovaries gave into NOT killing me!!! So I fixed my pb situation and if you are on my fb you read what happened!!! I called Kroger near my house and asked if they had Almond Butter, first I had to be transferred and then she asked if it was a spice!!!! UMMMM NO! I was like, "like peanut butter, but with Almonds..." needless to say they didn't have it. Ha. But I now have the chili in the crockpot and cooked up some more burger and chopped broccoli. YUM!!! feeling 100% better from this morning. Woo that was rough. I can't wait for the end of the month to see how all that changes. My mood swings and pain!!! :D

I realized that some how I bought pb (just really natural... oy.) instead of Almond butter... soooo I'm going before work to get Almond butter... oy. hahaha. I am using this site for my spring break workout I did day one in 9:10. woooo that was hard and awesome I loved it. I was listening to some rocking Glee while doing it. I feel pretty good so far today considering also I started today usually I feel awful today just not as wonderful Oh well!!!

Last day non paleo! YEA I'm so excited. I cooked sooo much. But I LOVED it!!!! The Alfredo taste test was AMAZING. Also so was the loin!!!! and I cut tons of veggies up. wow! Tomorrow I will cook the chili and I'm going to see if I can cook the chicken Fajita salad! Oh and the Kale is drying for chips!  YUM!! Also A very happy Birthday to Lauren!!! Thanks for helping me so much!!!

last saturday pre-paleo

The store was a success!!! Amazingly it only cost around 130$ I had to get some basics, coconut oil and coconut flour... also mag and fish oil. Aldis had some AWESOME prices, lots of veggies and the frozen food. Whole foods had a lot of things I needed... Mom hated the small lanes and the people who stand directly in front of you like its there home. It was quite entertaining!!! We got a lot of BEAUTIFUL meat. We then went to Kroger and got the last things that were cheaper there and still as good a quality... for surprise we found the Kroger had some of the things I didn't think it would, and oddly a little more, but since it is closer then we save on gas. Next time we go to Whole Foods we will make sure it is mainly to see my Aunt, the trip wasn't worth it with out seeing her!! (I MISSSSS YOU!!!) I had my last dinner out. It was with one of my favorite people. Tori, she made it possible to survive the first few years back in Atlanta. I'm so happy I got to see her and had a YUMMY dinner with her!!! Next time I'm cooking some awesome Paleo!!! I know she'll Love it!! So tomorrow is cooking day. I'm starting in the morning with the Slow cooker pork loin. Then when I get home from work I'm cooking the rest. Tonight I'm finishing up my inspiration board!!! Ok, I think that is everything. Remember to get your 8hrs of sleep with NO LIGHTS!!! Photos will come tomorrow with the board and food!!!

Hello!!! I'm prepping for my shopping trip on saturday! I wanted to show you the food matrix from Robb Wolf's site It is what I'm basing my list off of. My mom and I are going to Aldi's and Whole Foods. The nice thing about these two places is they don't have the taco chips my mom is OBSESSED with!!! Even nicer thing... they are right down the street from my Aunt's house!!! I did work out today, 3 30sec planks, 3 set of 8 skull crushers, 3 sets of 15 squats, 3 sets of 15 walking lunges, 3 sets of 15 push ups, and lots of jumping jacks thrown in between. Also I was learning fun things to do with the kettle balls from Jillian Michaels!! (I LOVEEE her!!!) Now off to my coffee and breakfast!!! YUM!

Other scores... My cholesterol is 130, my glucose is 91.vo2 max is 71.4mkm. And max leg press is 315lbs... I hold on to the rest, because it is slightly boring!!! Can't wait to keep showing the results!!!

New Starts

Hi Everyone... I start Paleo monday... I'm really excited. It will be spring break. Right I know in the middle of Winter. Mom and I are shopping saturday and I'm cooking Sunday!!! Mom is not so excited, bc of the no grains and no dairy thing. I know she will only see a slight difference because I'm sure she'll revolt when I don't cook. But I'm throwing out that 1070mg of sodium pasta crap she has in the freezer!!! I will post my beginning measurements and photos this weekend. I will also post what my meal plan is for the week!!! I'm really excited for this and plan on being that annoying Paleo obessed person that Robb talks about in "The Paleo Solution." Now time for a killer work out... Still sore from yesterday so this Should be AWESOME!!!! Love, SM!
